Merry Christmas EVERYONE!

Merry Christmas to all! I hope everyone discovers something positive during this break (family, life, cars, motorcycles, machines, tools). I am in Minnesota and its cold just how I like it!! Check out all of the snow and ice. I re-discovered why I love Minnesota. What'll YOU share when you get back?

Bye Chris

Cappy is a beautiful example to follow! A HUGE thank you from all of us B.A.D. kids.

So proud!!

All you gotta do to learn is spend a little extra time. Welding is nothing to joke about!! Be proud of the small feats and stare challenges in the eye. I'm so proud of everyone. Remember in September you were all strangers cars. Now...

Classic VW Bugs Visit

Chris Vallone and his father Chris Vallone came by today to show us their 67 beetle. One year car 12v with all the cool styling of the 6v early cars. What a beaut. They offered many words of wisdom and lots of tips. We have a good idea of what they are supposed to look like and motivation is high! THANK YOU www.classicvwbugs.com !

Surfing the internet and found this beautiful site on what we need and what to look for when performing a  6 Volt to 12 Volt system conversion on a Volkswagon Beetle. http://www.speedyjim.net/htm/6v_12v.htm

Taking a stroll through Ault Park

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I'm in Ohio visiting family and spotted this little gem in the park. Can anyone guess what year this is?

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Very carefully.

Yesterday the students pulled the doors off and began making templates for the door braces. Gotta keep the body square when we separate it from the pan. The engine team was still cleaning up the motor. Maybe today they will put it on a stand?!

Single-port vs. twin-port

Today the student groups made a great effort at explaining their findings to the other groups. I only captured some parts.

Remember:
- Center of gravity on the bus.
- HORIZONTAL OPPOSED 4-cylinder air-cooled.
- bracing the door openings for the dolly
- hands on the car when working only

Look for our article in the pilot.

We have our first article in the newspaper, the Cliffview Pilot! All of our names are listed; some are misspelled. No Big Deal. LOL

"Today was a good day"

My head was spinning today watching the groups at work. I am impressed more and more each day. There was deep research, deep cleaning, disassembly and inventory all happening at once. Mini lessons and challenges occurred flawlessly. WHAT GREAT FUN!
